Meet Kaylee Stepkoski

Kaylee Stepkoski is the 5x #1 Bestselling Author of The EVER Series and Another Vision. She loves writing sci-fi and fantasy genres for young adults and adults and is passionate about keeping them spice-free, believing “you can keep the ‘aww’ without having the ‘eww,’ creating a stronger plot!” Kaylee was born in Macon, Georgia, in 2001, and it was only until August of 2018 when Jesus gave her the desire to write. Her debut novel, EVER, was the product of a vision, and those visions only carried on from there. She seeks an adventure in her daily life with her Jeep, love for outdoor athleticism, and SCUBA diving passion and remains true to her adventurous love in her books, building suspense, action, clean slow-burn, and world lore. Continuing her call to write and upholding her title, Leader of the Spice-Free Rebellion, Kaylee writes her heart out with more novels on the way.

My Adventures

Writing is a passion of mine, but I’m also very outdoorsy. Anything outdoors, I’m in: sports (especially football), hiking, off-roading, mountain biking, rock climbing, and even tree climbing. It’s a longing. I love enveloping myself in my Creator’s art and being far away from the distractions. It’s just quiet. It’s another escape...my secret place.

My relationship with my Savior comes first, but my relationship with my family is extremely important to me. They’re my support system, the humor and love that keep me going, and my safe haven. My family’s blood runs thick from north to south to east to west. Some of us are far apart, but we’re close. Some are northerns while others, like us, are southerners, but that’s what makes it interesting. Without their support, I’d never be where I am now.

off-roading adventures
Writing is one of my many passions, like off-roading. In the summer of 2019—the same time I was publishing EVER—my family and I went on a road trip out west. One stop was in Moab, Utah where we hit the trails with the Jeep. My dad drove, my sister filmed, and I spotted the Jeep. I love it! I love being able to go places where very few people have gone. It’s an adventure, and I’m always up for those. I still remember standing in the hot desert, with the sun burning my skin, seeing distant grand snowy mountains. It was incredible. I’ll never forget the adventures I’ve been blessed with.

My family and I are certified SCUBA divers. We love venturing out below the surface of the ocean. It’s vast and ever stretching (catch the word play?). We live in Florida, which means we’re close to the Keys. The water is crystal clear and inviting. Though it’s not the mountains--they have my heart--it’s still so lovely and a blessing to be able to go.

I live for adventure
Adventure is something I live for. Anything outside I love. I just love activities that make my adrenaline rush, like hiking or off-roading. I can’t always be outdoors, so I write. I write adventures that make the reader want more. The problem with that is I always want more also, so I keep writing. It’s something I hold dearly because I can do it whenever I please. I’m not losing it because I know this passion was given to me for a reason. I’m excited to see what that reason is, but in the meantime, let’s let the story, EVER, spread!
